As promised, today I am reviewing the Body Shop’s Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter. I have been using this product for about two weeks and can say it is absolutely amazing. The condition of my lips has completely transformed, no exaggeration, from dry and ashy to soft and supple.

The formula is a very thick buttery one; however in warmer weather it softens and becomes less hard. When applied to your lips it instantly melts in and is so easily absorbed. Unlike most other lip balms and butter, this one contains no petroleum or miner oil meaning that this doesn’t just sit on top of your lips it fully moisturises your lips giving a slight sheen to them. The ingredient list makes me tear up its so beautiful, it contains wonderfully natural ingredients such as Shea Butter, Beeswax and Castor Oil.

Like all Body shop products the pink grapefruit scent is gorgeous. It smells so sweet, fruity and delicious enough to eat, I may have tasted it a couple of times just to make sure. Surprisingly, it does taste alright because I personally hate it when lip products taste awful... it ruins my whole mood. The packaging is so cute and small and fits comfortably into bags, purses and pockets.

On the Body Shop website it claims to offer ‘instant hydration’ and ‘leave lips soft and smooth’ which it actually does. It also last for about 6 hours before you need to top up, and even then I don’t really need to reapply I just like the scent.

Lucky for me I only purchased it for £1 after I used my £3 off voucher, but I would definitely repurchase this product as it is awesome and seems like it will last a long time as I have barley even made a dent in it.

Once again, I over did it at Poundland when I discovered these cute little balms from New York Colour. I picked up the four colours, Sugar Kissed, Sugar Coated, Sugar Baby and Sugar Fairy. I love the packaging of these, its so compact and easy to drop into your pocket or bag when your in a rush.

L-R: Sugar Coated (509A), Sugar Kiss (510A), Sugar Fairy (513A), Sugar Baby (512A)
The name of these 'lip balms' is quite deceiving because they have the formula of a lip gloss. The lip glosses are thank fully not too sticky however it is best to avoid eating anything that produces crumbs when wearing them. Its quite thick and glooply meaning it will last about 4 hours on your lips before you'll need to reapply. They can be applied thinly for a sheer subtle look during the day time and applied more heavily in the evening for a bold glossy lip

L-R: Sugar Coated, Sugar Kiss, Sugar Fairy, Sugar Baby

The lip glosses are quite moisturising but its a safer bet to apply a lip balm underneath to give your lips a smother appearance.  Unlike most lip gloss/balms these have pretty good ingredients such as Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter.

I decided to swatch my recent Collection 2000 purchases from my poundland haul and came up with a rather interesting summer simple makeup look in the process.

Collection 2000 Glam Metallics Coloured Liquid Eyeliner in Ripped + Groupie

First up, glitter eyeliner. Initially when I saw this product I shied away from the intense brightness of the bottle in fear that I would look like a clown when wearing it. However something within in me said Y.O.L.O, leading to me owning two of these florescent wonders today.

The brushes are a fabulously thin, allowing you to control the thickness of the liner precisely. The formula is quick drying, liquidy and does not budge when it on, seriously I couldn't scrub the swatch of my arm for a day! They eyeliner dries matt but still has a silky shimmer to it, so its not so in your face but does have a glamourous appeal.
Swatch: Top - Groupie, Bottom - Ripped

These sparkly gems can be worn as a regular liner but they also make a great eyeshadow base. Groupie is a beautiful holographic shimmery turquoise-green that looks amazing in the sunlight. My favorite however is Ripped as it is the most wearable for my skin-tone and lifts the eye for an effortless youthful look.

Collection 2000 Colour Intense Trio in Night  Jewels

I'm still stuck on ideas on how to use this palette as they are all very bright colours. The trio blends out really easily allowing for a smooth finish and flawless look. There is very little fall out, perfect for any clumsy people out there who like me have a tendency to get make up in their eyes resulting in an all too familiar blood shot eye look for the evening... sigh.

The shades are fairly pigmented and take a while to build up to full coverage. Personally I think this is perfect as it means I can create subtle but colourful looks for the daytime. They are shimmery and have a smooth, rich silky look to them when applied to them, unlike some that can appear 'ashy' on my skin-tone.

 Colour Blocking Eyeliner Look

Waterline: MUA Eyeliner in Royal Blue

Colour Blocking was a hot trend during Summer 2011, but why limit to just clothing? The contrast of two bright colours is perfect for summer drawing attention to your eyes and keeping make up fun and experimental!
